The Connecticut State Police is seeking the public's assistance in their investigation of the accident.

DANBURY, CT — Five people were taken to Danbury Hospital following a 4-vehicle collision on Interstate 84 Monday.

Reyna Navidad, 41, of Mahopac, N.Y., suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash traveling westbound in the area of Exit #1, the Connecticut State Police reported Tuesday. The accident occurred around 2:15 p.m. The other four, including Walter Delacruzgarcia of Carmel, NY, experienced minor injuries.

The fourth vehicle triggered the pileup when it collided with the car in front of it, which contained Navidad, the driver and another passenger. The car carrying Navidad was forced off the roadway, down the right shoulder embankment, and into an uncontrolled final rest against a tree. The fourth vehicle continued straight before colliding a second time into the second car, which was forced out of control and into the rear of the lead car, according to the State Police report.
