6 Danbury Businesses Found In Violation of State Liquor Laws

The investigation came after city law enforcement officials received "a growing number of complaints related to these establishments."

DANBURY, CT — State law enforcement agents have cited six Danbury businesses for violation of Connecticut liquor laws.

The investigation came after city law enforcement officials received "a growing number of complaints related to these establishments," according to a statement from Det. Lt. David Pardovich of the Danbury Police Department's Special Investigations Division, released Wednesday.

Members of the Connecticut Department of Liquor Control along with members of the Danbury Police Special Investigations Division and officers from the Patrol Division made their inspections on Mar. 24. They found the following businesses to have one or more liquor law violations which included restroom sanitation, refilling alcohol containers, minors loitering, sale of alcohol to minors, various liquor permit/signage issues, no age statement forms, and hookah smoking:

Red House Bar and Café, 68 Keeler Street
La Canchita, 6 Delay Street
La Noche (formerly Zona Azul), 103 Railroad Place
Club Diamond, 101 Railroad Place
El Bacano, 11 Railroad Place

The minor found drinking alcohol inside El Bacano was issued an infraction for possession of alcohol by a minor. The Connecticut Department of Liquor Control submitted an investigation report and will be following up with possible enforcement action, according to Pardovich.
