70-Year-Old Woman Was Dealing Drugs From Danbury Apartment: Police
Police have apprehended a 70-year-old Danbury woman they say was dealing drugs from her apartment.
DANBURY, CT — Police have apprehended a 70-year-old Danbury woman they say was dealing drugs from her apartment.
The months-long investigation came following complaints to police from citizens about illegal drug, liquor and cigarette sales at the apartment located at 27 Foster Street in Danbury, police said.
"Detectives were familiar with this location as they have executed search warrants there three times in the past," Danbury police spokesperson Erin Henry said.

Agents from the Danbury Police Department Special Investigations Division, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and a K-9 officer from the Bethel Police Department were conducting surveillance of the apartment on Tuesday when they observed suspected buyers entering and exiting the unit, police said.
Police approached one of the suspected buyers, a 57-year-old Bethel man, and found him to be in possession of a rock-like substance that field tested positive as crack cocaine, according to Henry.

Detectives then executed a court-authorized search warrant on the apartment, where they say they found more than $8,500 in cash, an electronic scale and crack cocaine packaged for sale.
The woman was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a narcotic substance with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drug paraphernalia within 200’ of school, sale of narcotics, and sale of narcotics within 200’ of school, and issued a $150,000 bond.
The alleged buyer was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
