Elderly Man Found Dead In Danbury Pool: Police

DANBURY, CT — An elderly man was found dead in a swimming pool Wednesday morning, according to Danbury police.

Officers were called to the area of Stadley Rough Road around 9 a.m. Sept. 23 for a report of an unresponsive man in a pool, police spokesperson Erin Henry said.

Responding officers located the man, who was pronounced dead.

Police said the incident appears to be isolated, and the investigation remains ongoing.

The state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.

Police did not immediately release the man's identity or provide additional details about the circumstances.
