[Danbury, CT March 13, 2013] – Union Savings Bank in its continuing effort to support the local communities it serves, recently made a donation in the amount of $25,000.00 to Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western Connecticut. The funds will be allocated towards the building of an in-patient residence facility in Danbury.
There is an urgent need for a hospice residence in Western Connecticut and Regional Hospice and Home Care has plans drawn with hopes of breaking ground on a facility very soon. The plans are for a 35,000 square foot, environmentally friendly location the will include 12 home-like patient suites, outdoor patios, a chapel, a stroll garden, dining area and dedicated family spaces. Clinical and administrative offices for the organization will be housed on the second floor.
“It is our hope to build a place where patients and their families can receive compassionate end-of-life care in a welcoming, home-like environment,” said Cynthia Roy Squitieri, President and CEO of Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western CT. “This much needed project would not be possible without the continued, generous support of community-minded organizations like Union Savings Bank and we thank them for helping to make this a reality,” Roy Squitieri continued.
