
The Great Atlantic Pacific and Tea Company is planning to exit 14 Connecticut stores in November, the News Times reports. The supermarket chain based in Montvale, New Jersey filed for bankruptcy in July.
According to the News Times, A&P’s plans to close the 14 stores is not set to impact the acquisition of stores in Greenwich, Stamford and New Canaan. An A&P spokesman did not say whether its other stores in the state could go to buyers before being closed in November.
The store has a location in Danbury.

When the company filed for bankruptcy, it announced that it had found bidders for 120 of its 296 grocery stores. Its brands include The Food Emporium, Pathmark, Superfresh, Waldbaum’s, Food Basics and Best Cellars.
