Arthur Murray’s Andy Cabell Named a Rising Star by Westfair’s 40

Danbury, Ct. Andy Cabell, owner of the Arthur Murray Studio of Danbury, will be honored with a Rising Star award by the Westchester Business Council at an annual awards reception on Thursday June 11th at the LaKota Oaks in Norwalk, Ct. He and the other awards recipients are being recognized as the next generation of young leaders who are making great strides in shaping their communities.

Cabell recently purchased the Arthur Murray Danbury franchise that offers classes for all ages from ballroom and Latin dancing to an extensive children’s program including junior Latin dance classes. Says Cabell “I have loved dance since I was a boy taking tap and ballet classes, so you might say owning a dance studio is the fulfillment of a childhood dream.”

Since joining Arthur Murray in 2009, Cabell has placed first in multiple teaching competitions and competed in the international finals of the annual All Stars Tournament. Being on stage comes natural to Cabell since his parents were globe-trotting puppeteers, and sister a Broadway stage performer.

This year the studio is celebrating its 40th anniversary with Cabell launching a series of give-back community-based initiatives. “We wanted to not only say thank you to the community for supporting us for four decades but to give back and be good neighbors… to that end, we are planning to partner with local non-profits and community organizations hosting and sponsoring regional events”, says Cabell. In the past, the studio has supported and partnered with organizations from The Housatonic Habitat for Humanity to A Better Chance in Ridgefield. Recently they partnered with Hillside Food Outreach raising over $80,000 at a Dancing with the Stars event.
