BOOM! $25.8M Lotto Jackpot-Winning Ticket Purchased in Danbury
Last Friday's Lotto jackpot win is now third-highest in game's history -- but who's the winner?
DANBURY, CT — A Lotto ticket worth $25.8 million — a lump-sum value of $21.3 million — was sold at the Stop & Shop located at 44 Lake Avenue Ext., in Danbury. The winning card was one of the 46,041 winning tickets sold for the Friday Lotto jackpot drawing, but uniquely features the winning numbers 1 – 9 – 10 – 15 – 41 – 43.
For its part in selling the winning ticket, that Stop & Shop location will receive a $10,000 retailer commission.
"We’re ecstatic that we have a Lotto jackpot winner in Connecticut’s game," said Connecticut Lottery President and CEO Greg Smith. 'This will certainly be life-changing for someone. We can’t wait to congratulate the winner in person."

Jackpot winners have the choice of receiving their winnings either as an annuity (21 payments), or one-time cash lump sum. Players have 180 calendar days, or until April 29, 2020, to claim their prizes.
Tickets can be checked online at CTLOTTERY.ORG, by scanning in a lottery Ticket Checker, by using the official Connecticut Lottery mobile app, or at any Lottery retailer location.

The Lotto jackpot is won by matching all six winning numbers drawn. A Lotto ticket costs $1 and players select six numbers between 1 and 44, or they can ask for a Lotto "Quick Pick" to let the computer randomly pick their numbers. The overall odds of winning a Lotto prize are 1 in 39.3. Odds of winning the jackpot are approximately 1 in 7.1 million.
Lotto drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 10:38 p.m. and televised on WCCT-TV. On drawing nights, wagering closes at 10:20 p.m. and reopens at 10:46 p.m.
