Boughton Proposes High-Speed Internet, More in Speech: Report
The proposals were made at the annual state-of-the-city speech Friday.

A partnership with a private fiber optic company could bring high-speed internet to Danbury, Mayor Mark Boughton said during his annual state-of-the-city speech on Friday, the Danbury News Times reports. Boughton said every home could have high-speed internet for half the going rate.
Boughton announced several other proposals Friday including:
- A program that would pay homeless people with gift cards for collecting litter and recyclables
- Building renovations for Main Street property owners
- A natural gas power plant
