We are very pleased to welcome Connecticut State Archaeologist (Emeritus) Nicholas Bellantoni to the Danbury Museum to talk about his book, Hiking Ruins in Southern New England on June 13, at 2pm. 
At 3 pm, following Nick's presentation, we are pleased to welcome Darlene Kascak, Schaghticoke Tribal Nation and Education Outreach Ambassador at the Institute for American Indian Studies for a complementary program. Both events are free--we hope you'll join us for one or both--and part of the Danbury Museum's year long commemoration of our nation's 250th birthday.

First Congregational Church

The City of Danbury, the Danbury Museum, Danbury's historic First Congregational Church, and the Mad Hatter Chorus invite you to a gathering of the Danbury community for a special July 4th commemoration.
At 2 p.m. the program will begin with a welcome from Brigid Guertin, Danbury Museum Executive Director and Danbury City Historian,&nbsp; followed by remarks by Heidi Palmer (Moderator of the First Church), a short speech from Mayor Roberto L. Alves; then the Declaration of Independence will be read aloud by community members. Following the reading of the Declaration, the Mad Hatter Chorus will lead us in a patriotic sing-along of "America the Beautiful," "God Bless America," and the "Star Spangled Banner." 
At 2:50 p.m. Danbury will join with communities across the country in a national bell-ringing ceremony to commemorate the Semiquincentennial and ring the bells at the First Congregational Church as well as at St James's Episcopal Church.
