UPDATE: Doctors Hopeful Injured Hawk Will Fly Again
Firefighters cared for the injured bird, found on the street in Danbury.

DANBURY, CT — Veterinarians are hopeful that the hawk Danbury firefighters rescued and brought to a rehabilitation center Wednesday will heal and return to flight.
The Danbury Fire Department provided that update on social media, adding that the doctors, from South Wilton Vet Group, determined the raptor is a "she."
At approximately 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, a man who had picked up an injured red tail hawk in the street brought the raptor into Danbury Fire Department HQ. The firefighters of "A" Platoon then found a box and made a makeshift carrier for the "aggravated" hawk, they reported on Facebook.

"DC Meehan made a quick call to Christine's Critters in Weston, a raptor rehabilitation center, where they said they would accept the hawk," the firefighters wrote. "Since CT EnCon was busy with a serious boat accident, a call was made to DPD Sgt. John Krupinsky who arranged to have Animal Control Officer Craig Simone take the injured bird to Weston."
"It's NOT all about fires," Danbury's Bravest reminded their social media followers.
