Connecticut's third Chick-fil-A restaurant cut the ribbon on their new store located in the Danbury Fair Mall in the former Sbarro location.

Danbury’s first Chick-fil-A restaurant opened on Thursday, Nov. 6 inside the Danbury Fair Mall.

A ribbon cutting was held Thursday morning with lots of fanfare, a trumpet player and Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton in attendance. The new store brings 35 jobs to the area. Owner Rich Beattie gave away free food for a year to the first 100 customers in line early Thursday.

The 100th person arrived when they opened at 9 a.m. Others waited, camping out for a full 24 hours, to win 52 free food vouchers for the year.
