Civil Air Patrol Cadets Receive Awards and Promotions

399th Composite Squadron cadets promoted and receive awards for dedication and hard work in Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program

Major Joseph Bisnov, 399th Composite Squadron Commander, conducted an awards and promotion ceremony for cadets on September 20, 2016 at squadron head quarters, located at Danbury Municipal Airport. The ceremony underscores the dedication and hard work cadets put in to advance in Civil Air Patrol's cadet program.

*Cadet Second Lieutenant Noah Stillman was presented with the Billy Mitchell Award. Stillman earned the Mitchell Award after completion of the first eight achievements in the Civil Air Patrol cadet program, passing a physical fitness test, and a comprehensive examination covering leadership theory and aerospace topics.

*Cadet Liam Waldron promoted to Cadet Master Sergeant and earned the Lindbergh Achievement.

*Cadet Ainsley Keller promoted to Cadet Airman First Class and earned the Arnold Achievement.

Civil Air Patrol offers youth aged 12-18 unique opportunities in aerospace education, leadership development, search and rescue training, and much more. Civil Air Patrol, the longtime all-volunteer U.S. Air Force auxiliary, is the newest member of the Air Force’s Total Force, which consists of regular Air Force, Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve, along with Air Force retired military and civilian employees. CAP, in its Total Force role, operates a fleet of 550 aircraft and performs about 90 percent of continental U.S. inland search and rescue missions as tasked by the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center and is credited by the AFRCC with saving an average of 78 lives annually.
