'Clean City Danbury Day' Returns May 7

Dumpsters will be available to residents at five locations on May 7 from 8 a.m. to noon.

DANBURY, CT — Residents may dispose of property debris and unwanted household items at no charge on "Clean City Danbury Day."

The bulk garbage dumping is limited to Danbury residents and residential property owners only, according to the notice on the city website.

The dumpsters will be available at these five locations on May 7 from 8 a.m. to noon:

  • Danbury City Hall, 155 Deer Hill Avenue
  • Public Works Facility, 53 Newtown Road
  • Danbury P.A.L., 35 Hayestown Road
  • Rogers Park, by the tennis courts
  • WCSU Westside Campus, 43 Lake Avenue Extension

Construction debris, yard debris, grass clippings, hazardous waste and electronics will not be accepted.

Scrap metal, tires and white appliances containing Freon will be accepted, but must be kept separate from other garbage. Electronics will be accepted at the Oak Ridge's Mom & Pop Center at 307 White Street during Clean City Danbury Day.

No commercial vehicles or box trucks will be allowed.

Organizations who wish to adopt a street, and residents who wish to volunteer at a dumpster site, should email Jon Barney at j.barney@danbury-ct.gov or call 203-797-4511.
