Co-Owner Charged with Arson

The co-owner of the home at 91 South King St., destroyed by an arson fire on Nov. 21, was charged with third-degree arson in that fire Feb. 18.

When Danbury Police charged Stephen Pohlot, 43, with third-degree arson on Feb. 18, they were drawing a case to its conclusion that started with a domestic dispute, fight and fire on Nov. 21, 2010.

When police and fire fighters arrived at 91 South King St., late Sunday night, Nov. 21, 2010, they found one man running around the neighborhood knocking on doors, asking for help. They found his partner, Pohlot, sitting outside the house, smelling of both alcohol and gasoline. He had blood on his shirt. The house was totally destroyed in the late-night fire.

Police charged Pohlot with third-degree assault, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct at the scene. They collected his clothes.
