Convicted Drug Dealer Arrested In Danbury Sting: Police

As two children were found to reside at his apartment, the dealer was additionally charged with two counts of risk of injury to a minor.​​

DANBURY, CT — Police have charged a man with multiple drug-related offenses following a several-months-long investigation into illegal drug sales throughout the city.

The Danbury Police Department began its surveillance of Gerald Blake Rockhead, 45, of Angel Drive in Waterbury, following complaints from residents.

Rockhead is a convicted drug dealer, who was known to detectives from the Special Investigations Division through past investigations and arrests, according to a report from Sgt. John Krupinsky of SID.

On Monday, detectives from SID and officers from the Danbury Police Department's Community Conditions Unit closed the net. They executed court-authorized search warrants for Rockhead's person, the vehicle he operates, his cellphone, and an apartment where he stays in Danbury, after taking him into custody when he pulled into the driveway.

During the search, police recovered approximately 57 grams of crack cocaine, $320 in cash, an electronic scale and other packaging material.

Rockhead was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of more than 1 ounce of crack cocaine with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving without a license, and three counts of violating a protective order. As two children were found to reside at that apartment, he was additionally charged with two counts of risk of injury to a minor. Bond was set at $200,000.
