Coronavirus CT: Hospitalizations Stay Flat Over The Long Weekend

CONNECTICUT — The coronavirus positivity rate in the state climbed slightly over the long weekend, but hospitalizations stayed flat.

Out of the 1,712 cases of COVID-19 recorded by the state Department of Public Health in the past seven days, 520, or 30.4 percent, were among people who had already been completely vaccinated.

With 377 cases confirmed over the long Columbus Day weekend, out of 74,213 tests taken, the daily positivity rate reported Tuesday afternoon was 1.98 percent, up nearly a half percentage point in Connecticut since Friday.

The number of hospitalizations has remained the same. As of Tuesday, there are 234 residents being treated for the virus inside Connecticut hospitals. Of those 181, or 77.4 percent, are not fully vaccinated.

Most of those hospitalized (72) are in New Haven County.
