Coronavirus Danbury: Health Center Offering Telehealth Screening

The Greater Danbury Community Health Center has launched its telehealth program in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

March 23 2020

Connecticut Institute For Communities, Inc.’s (CIFC) Greater Danbury Community Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center, has launched its telehealth program in adult medicine, pediatrics, adult behavioral health, and pediatric behavioral health in response to the COVID-19 pandemic that is keeping most people at home, even from their doctors. In addition to comprehensive primary care services, the Greater Danbury Community Health Center can screen patients for COVID-19 symptoms and determine if a COVID-19 testing order is warranted (as all Connecticut drive-thru testing sites require a medical provider’s order for testing). Telehealth includes both visits through video with the use of a smartphone or computer, or telephone only visits with just audio capacity.

“As a community medicine provider, it is essential that we are available to all patients who want and need services, even during times of pandemic. Telehealth is a unique way for us to continue to provide quality services to all in our region who need care. We are grateful to our committed team of medical providers who have stepped up to fill a critical community need during this stressful time,” said James H.
