Coronavirus Danbury: Mayor: 'We Are Still In A Pandemic'

Here are the latest, local updates on how the coronavirus outbreak is impacting Danbury.

DANBURY, CT — Two more Danbury residents died from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, Mayor Mark Boughton reported during his nightly news conference on Wednesday. The total death toll from the virus in the city is now 93, and 16 more positive cases of the virus have been confirmed in the city.

"Let's make no mistake," Boughton said. "We are still in a pandemic... Until we get a vaccine, or an effective treatment, life will not return to the way we knew it. It just won't."

Statewide, hospitalizations dropped by 55 patients Wednesday after a single day increase. Gov. Ned Lamont said he hopes Tuesday's higher number was just a one-day blip. There were another 85 coronavirus-related deaths and 374 positive cases out of 2,804 tests.
