Danbury Animal Control Issues Coyote Warning

The mating season for coyotes, when they tend to be aggressive, is ongoing and will last through mid-March.

DANBURY, CT — The city's animal control department has said a recent coyote attack on a dog should serve as a warning to dog owners, citing the ongoing coyote mating season.

"A recent incident involving a medium-sized lab mix being attacked by two coyotes when let out before bed highlights the importance of pet safety," wrote Danbury Animal Control.

Officials said the dog survived the attack, and Danbury Animal Control is urging folks to keep pet vaccinations current and never leave them unattended outside.
