Danbury Banks Thwart Theft by Bronx Man: Police

He was trying to use fake IDs to withdraw money.

DANBURY, CT -- A Bronx man tried to use fake IDs in attempts to withdraw money from a number of banks in Danbury on Sunday, the News Times is reporting.

Darryl Morgan of the Bronx, using IDs stolen from other New Yorkers, attempted to withdraw money from nearly every Chase bank in Danbury, according to police. A fraud alert was issued after the first attempt, and bank officials contacted the police.

Morgan was charged with criminal impersonation, forgery in the second degree, criminal attempt at larceny in the fourth degree, criminal larceny in the fifth degree, identity theft in the third degree, and interfering with an officer.
