DANBURY, CT — The 2019 municipal election is heating up in Danbury and there are plenty of races with candidates eager to serve in elected office.
Danbury Patch asked candidates to answer questions about their campaigns and will be publishing candidate profiles as election day draws near.
George O'Loughlin, 65, is running for City Council Ward #1 as a Democrat. A retired clinical social worker, he served on the Board of Education for over 10 years.

The single most pressing issue facing our town/district is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
Overcrowding in schools. Develop and implement plans to remediate deficiencies.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
Looking to develop and implement plans to resolve issues. Current administration in power for 18 years and issues have gotten worse.
List other issues that define your campaign platform:
Need to plan and develop for all infrastructure in town for housing developed. Police,
fire, roads (traffic and paving) have not been expanded to meet needs of community.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
Board of Education record. Professional career as social worker to address individual
and system needs. Worked with individuals with developmental disabilities for over 30
years and with individuals with mental health and income deficiencies for the past seven
(7) years.
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
Passion for educating all students.
