Danbury Celebration Will Remember Boy Who Died in ATV Accident

A celebration of life in honor of Joey Awlasewicz will take place on Oct. 5.

Joey, 11, of Roxbury, passed away after crashing on an ATV in Roxbury on June 19.

Joey’s parents describe him as “an amazing, loving, child who always had hugs and smiles for everyone. He was caring to all, and the most amazing son anyone could ask for.”

A barbecue picnic will take place at Hatters Park on Hayestown Road in Danbury, from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5. A donation request of $45 per adult will benefit the Joey Awlasewicz Fund. Children 12 and under free.

Those who wish to contribute but can not attend the event, please send a check made payable to the “Joey Awlasewicz Fund” to the Town of Roxbury with “Joey Fund” in the memo. The address is P. O. Box 203, Roxbury, CT 06783.
