Danbury To Consider New Noise Ordinance

The ordinance would be a subset that would bar residents from creating a "nuisance".

Danbury will consider an ordinance Tuesday at a City Council meeting that would make it illegal to create an outdoor nuisance.

The proposed ordinance will be a subset of the current ordinance. It defines “nuisance” as any activity that creates excessive noise, increases vehicular traffic or excessive lighting and bars residents from maintaining outdoor group activities that would create such a nuisance.

In addition, the Unified Neighborhood Intervention Team would will be authorized to issue warnings, citations or fines of upto $250 to those found in violation of the ordinance.
