Danbury Coronavirus Update: 1,128 Active Cases, 55 Dead

Here are the latest, local updates on how the coronavirus outbreak is impacting Danbury

DANBURY, CT — Mayor Mark Boughton reported that the death toll from the new coronavirus is now 55, up five from Thursday's tally. There are 1,128 residents who have tested positive for COVID-19.

The state reported 65 new deaths Friday, which brought the total to 1,036. There were also 925 new positive cases and a net increase of 20 hospitalizations. Currently, there are a total of 16,809 positive cases and 1,946 current hospitalizations.

Connecticut is ramping up its testing capacity now that CVS Health's rapid test site is active.
Gov. Ned Lamont announced that a state partnership with CVS Health will allow for free, rapid COVID-19 testing for eligible residents.
