Danbury Coronavirus Update: 3 New Testing Sites Open
Here are the latest, local updates on how the coronavirus outbreak is impacting Danbury.
DANBURY, CT — Mayor Mark Boughton reported Wednesday that the city death toll from the new coronavirus is unchanged, at 64. There are 1,366 residents who have tested positive for COVID-19.
The mayor also announced that three COVID-19 testing sites have opened up at the Danbury AFC Urgent Care Facilities located at 2 Main Street, 100 Mill Plain Road and 76A Newtown Road. The test is covered by insurance, Boughton said, but residents still need an appointment and a doctor's prescription.
The large number of new positive cases reported Wednesday was due to a catch-up period in testing, according to Gov. Ned Lamont. Connecticut had another 121 coronavirus-related deaths, 2,109 positive cases and a net gain of 23 hospitalizations reported Wednesday.
