Danbury Coronavirus Update: Courthouse Closed

An employee in the clerk's office tested positive for the virus.

DANBURY, CT — The Danbury courthouse closed Wednesday after an employee in the clerk’s office tested positive for the new coronavirus.

"The courthouse was immediately closed for comprehensive cleaning and sanitization," Chief Court Administrator Patrick L. Carroll III said in a press release.

Beginning Thursday, and until further notice, all cases that would otherwise be handled in the Danbury courthouse are being transferred to the Waterbury Courthouse at 400 Grand Street.
