Danbury Couple Arrested on Drug Charges: Cops

The suspects were allegedly selling narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school.

DANBURY, CT - Danbury police Tuesday afternoon arrested an Arch Street couple on narcotics charges, following a month-long investigation into alleged marijuana dealing from the apartment.

Arrested were Roy Romero, 29, and Betzabet Sanchez, 25, of 1 Arch St., Apt. C. Romero was charged with:

  • Three counts of risk of injury to a minor
  • Possession of a controlled substance over 1/2 ounce
  • Possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell
  • Possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell within 1500’ of a school
  • Possession of a controlledsubstance within 1500’ of a school
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Three young children were in the home at the time of the arrest, and police seized “marijuana and packaging material, as well as a substantial amount of cash.”

Sanchez was charged with:

  • Three counts of risk of injury to a minor
  • Possession of a controlled substance over 1/2 ounce
  • Possession of a controlled substance within 1500’ of a school
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia within 1500 of a school
