Danbury Dirt Mountains on Their Way Out
They've muddied the views near the municipal airport for nearly four decades.

DANBURY, CT — Those giant mounds of mounds of dirt and run-down buildings near the Danbury municipal airport that have stood as soiled sentinels for nearly 40 years will be disappearing, eventually, the News Times is reporting.
The property, once the home of Danbury Topsoil, is under new ownership. Westconn Aviation, which provides hangar space, aircraft maintenance and flight instruction services at the airport, purchased the property earlier this year at a bankruptcy auction. Their existing property is adjacent to their new purchase. The new owners are looking for a company interested in developing the property, which covers more than two acres and is zoned as industrial.
The cleanup process is already underway, but is expected to take months to complete.
