Experience: Current 4th Ward City Councilman and former Danbury Board of Education Member

Family in government: No

The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:

Our education system is in dire need of assistance. Schools are bursting at the seams and Danbury ranks 169th out of 169 cities and towns in CT for per pupil expenditure. We need a real focus on our public schools because we know that they are key to our future economic viability. Investing in our schools is investing in our local economy.

Critical differences between me and my opponents:

The differences between myself and my running mate and Joe Britton and the other candidates are that we are proactive in our service to Danbury. We were mentored by a former Councilmember who taught us that we needed to be accessible to our constituents and to work hard on their behalf. We’ve achieved results for our Ward and that will always be our goal.

Accomplishments:

We have several accomplishments from overseeing completion of construction and pavement projects in the Ward to removing dangerous trees, installing safety signs on neighborhoods with many children, and to curbing littering and leading the effort against the proposed Plumtrees Road Waste Transfer Station.

Other issues:

Our roads need better and more consistent care. Paving should not be an election year objective. We need to ensure that all roads are safe for our residents. We also need more attention to our seniors who have devoted their lives to living here, raising their families here, and volunteering here and retiring here. Danbury does not have an equitable senior tax abatement or assurance programs. We must change that.

What else would you like voters to know about you?

I’m a family man who grew up in Danbury and have decided to give back to my community in this role. I want to make sure that we give our children the best shot at success and to ensure transparency in government for all. I’m proud to be running for the 4th Ward City Council with Joe Britton who shares similar life experiences as a Danbury resident and exemplifies our community. Our hope is to do better for all and I know we will represent the residents of the 4th Ward with honor and distinction.
