Danbury Election Results 2018: Local Winners Announced

DANBURY, CT —Voters went to the polls Tuesday and came home with more than a few surprises.
Democratic challenger Raghib Allie-Brennan is projected to upset Republican incumbent Will Duff for the state House District 2, the News Times is reporting. The district includes Bethel, Redding, Newtown and Danbury. The contest was a rematch: Duff narrowly defeated Allie- Brennan for the same position in 2016.
In another upset, newbie Democratic candidate Julie Kushner is projected to defeat 10-year Republican Sen. Mike McLachlan for the 24th District seat, and in another rematch, Democrat David Arconti, Jr., is projected to beat Republican Vaesna Roeun to keep his seat in the 109th House District.

For the U.S. House of Representatives race in the 5th District, Democrat Jahana Hayes is projcted to defeat Republican Manny Santos.

Republican incumbent Steve Harding is the projected winner over Democratic challenger Daniel Pearson in the race for the state House District 107 seat, the News Times reported.

In the 108th House District, Republican Richard A. Smith ran unopposed.
State Rep. Bob Godfrey handily won re-election to the 110th District of the state House of Representatives, the News Times reported.
In the 138th Assembly District, challenger Democrat Kenneth Gucker is projected to narrowly defeat incumbent Republican Michael S. Ferguson.
