Danbury FD Removes Roof From Car To Free Trapped Passenger

The passenger was later transported to Danbury Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

DANBURY, CT — Firefighters had to remove the roof from a car to free a passenger following a crash on Saturday.

The Danbury Fire Department responded were notified of a serious car accident around 5:30 p.m. First responders to the scene at 40 Taggan Point Road found a heavily damaged Subaru Outback station wagon with a passenger trapped in the front right seat.

"Due to the location of the vehicle and the tree, units had to remove the entire roof of the vehicle and then remove the victim across the drivers side of the vehicle," firefighters reported on social media.

The passenger was later transported to Nuvance Health Danbury Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries, according to the report.
