Danbury Fire Crews Tackle 2-Alarm Apartment House Blaze
The second alarm was struck shortly after first responders arrived, due to the size and complexity of the building, according to officials.
DANBURY, CT — The Danbury Fire Department shut down a blaze at a large multi-unit apartment building on Nabby Road on Monday.
Firefighters were notified shortly after 3 p.m. First responders found smoke showing from a third floor balcony and confirmed a working fire.
Shortly after their arrival, a second alarm was struck due to the size and complexity of the building, according to a report on social media. First arriving companies stretched the initial attack line using a ‘rope stretch’ to a third floor balcony due to the fire apartment's location in the building.

While firefighters searched the building, many occupants self-evacuated. Numerous residents in adjacent apartments needed assistance leaving the building, according to the emergency crews.
Ultimately, the fire was brought under control in under 30 minutes with no injuries to firefighters or residents.
