Danbury Fire Department Battles Blaze At Royal Drive Home

First responders found smoke showing and an advancing fire in the rear of the home.

DANBURY, CT — Firefighters reported that one person escaped a fire late Wednesday night at a residence on Royal Drive. There were no injuries.

First responders from the Danbury Fire Department found smoke showing and an advancing fire in the rear of the home, and called for additional personnel. After escaping the fire, the lone occupant of the home was evaluated by Danbury Hospital Emergency Medical Services.

The absence of any fire hydrants in the area necessitated a call to Germantown Volunteer Fire #10, the Beaverbrook Volunteer Fire Department and Mill Plain Independent Hose Company #12 for tankers and more manpower. Water Witch Hose Company #7 provided lighting and air support, according to the DFD's report on Facebook.
