Danbury Firefighters Aid Distressed Hiker In Richter Park
The firefighters had to abandon their off-road rescue vehicle when the trail became too narrow.

DANBURY, CT — Danbury firefighters came to the aid of a hiker having a difficult time in Richter Park on Saturday.
Firefighters received the distress call around 1 p.m. and set out to find the hiker on the Red Trail. Along with a paramedic, the firefighters traveled using the FD's off-road rescue vehicle, Ranger 1, until the trail became too narrow to navigate, fire officials said.
While on foot the rescuers found the hiker approximately 5,000 feet into the trail near the summit of the Farrington property.
