Danbury Goes Purple for Alzheimer's Awareness Month
Right now, there are 78 thousand people living with Alzheimer's in Connecticut and 178 thousand caregivers.

DANBURY, CT – June is Alzheimer’s Brain Awareness Month and the City of Danbury is working with the Alzheimer’s Association to paint the town purple.
So far Danbury City Hall, Danbury Senior Center, Elmwood Park, the Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce, Hancock Hall and Main Street have gone purple. You can also find firefighters in purple T-shirts on Fridays for the month of June.
Right now, there are 78 thousand people living with Alzheimer’s in Connecticut and 178 thousand caregivers. Money raised for the Alzheimer’s Association goes to continued care and support and to advance research efforts for those with the disease, their caregivers and people concerned bout Alzheimer’s.

"We are proud to support the Alzheimer’s Association each year in the City of Danbury. I have a
family connection to this disease and I am proud to work with an organization who not only has
provided care and support, but who is also committed to finding a cure," Mayor Mark Boughton said in a release.
