Danbury Head Start Staff Accepted Unqualified Kids: Report
The names of the employee who has quit, and those being asked to step down, have not been released.
DANBURY, CT — An employee in Danbury’s Head Start program has resigned and three other staff members are being asked to leave for allowing unqualified children into the program, the News-Times is reporting.
The names of the employee who has quit, and those being asked to step down, have not been released.
The action comes as a result of an audit the organization commissioned in the wake of the arrest of Monica Bevilacqua, former director of Danbury Head Start and former treasurer of a Brookfield parent-teacher organization who was arrested in December after police said she embezzled $12,700 from the organization. She has since accepted a deal that would see the five felony charges against her dropped in exchange for completing a probation program.
