Danbury Hopes to Raise New Iconic Flag Pole

DANBURY, CT - A new flagpole could soon be set to rise over the Danbury city center, the Danbury News Times reported.

Town officials have expressed interest in setting up an iconic flag pole on Main Street, according to the Danbury News Times. Mayor Mark Boughton hopes the flag could serves as a focal point for Danbury.

The proposed plan would be to replace the rusted 65-foot flagpole over Main Street and refurbish the city’s Civil War Monument in West Street park, the Danbury News Times reported. The City Council was scheduled to review the plan Tuesday.
