Danbury Hospital Doc Argues For Less Jail Time Due To Coronavirus
The head of Danbury Hospital's Respiratory Department says he can't go to jail for sexual assault, he's needed on the outside.
DANBURY, CT —The head of Danbury Hospital's respiratory department, charged with sexually assaulting a teen aged girl, told a court Thursday that he can't be jailed because his skills are needed to handle the new coronavirus, the Connecticut Post reports.
Dr. Stanley Davidson was charged Thursday with second-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a child and enticing a minor by computer, according to the state's judicial website. His next court date is April 9, according to court records, and he was released after posting a $100,000 bond, according to online court records.
The Danbury Hospital patient, a Wilton resident, was the first presumptive positive case of COVID-19 involving a Connecticut resident.

Bridgeport Police made the arrest on Thursday, March 12, according to online court records. All three charges are considered felonies, according to court records. The Connecticut Post reports that a now 20-year-old woman told them she was sexually assaulted on numerous occasions by Davidson beginning when she was 12. Davidson's attorney denied the allegations and said his client "was trying to mentor a troubled girl" according to the Connecticut Post.
