Danbury Inmate Charged With Possessing Weapons

If convicted, the prisoner faces a maximum term of imprisonment of five years.

DANBURY, CT — An inmate at the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury as been charged with with weapons possession.

A federal grand jury in New Haven returned an indictment today against Julian De Jesus Castillo, 34, harging him with possession of contraband in a federal prison.

The indictment alleges that Castillo, an inmate at the FCI Danbury, possessed weapons, or objects designed or intended to be used as weapons, on Feb. 8, 2018.

If convicted, Castillo faces a maximum term of imprisonment of five years.

This matter is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Anastasia E. King.
