Danbury Library to Host 2nd Annual Craft Fair

Over 30 local crafters, artisans, and makers will be in attendance.

From The Danbury Library:The Danbury Library will host its second annual Holiday Craft Fair on Saturday, December 1st from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Over 30 local crafters, artisans, and makers will be in attendance, not only selling their merchandise but also providing illuminating demonstrations of how they create their work. This is a family-friendly event, with something for everyone!

Items for sale will include natural handmade bath and beauty products, original clothing for children and adults, knitted and crocheted accessories, unique handmade jewelry, holiday ornaments and decor, paper crafts, children’s toys, and more. The vendors will be situated in various locations throughout the Library. Attendees will be encouraged to check out their demonstrations and try their hand at some techniques the artists use in their work. And for further inspiration, Library staff will be happy to assist fair-goers in locating Library materials about fine arts, crafting techniques, and how-tos to continue the learning after the fair.
In addition to crafts, the Junior Department will feature a DJ, who will play both holiday and popular music for kids and families to dance to and enjoy. Outside on the Library Plaza, from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m., attendees can also enjoy the sounds of the Harvey Phillips Foundation’s Tuba Christmas Show, courtesy of local tuba and euphonium musicians. Following the Craft Fair at 5:00 p.m., folks can head outside to the Library Plaza where CityCenter Danbury will hold its annual Light-the-Lights festivities that will include caroling, the lighting of the downtown trees with Mayor Boughton, and the arrival of Santa Claus on a fire truck.

Except for purchases made at the vendor tables, all activities are free of charge! For more information contact Tara Carvalho, Program and Outreach Coordinator, at 203.797.4505, ext. 7731.
