Danbury Library Hosting Film Event Highlighting Movies Made In City

The program will feature a screening of a movie partially filmed in Danbury and explore the city's film history.

DANBURY, CT — A program at the Danbury Library will highlight the city’s connection to the film industry with a screening of a movie partially filmed locally.

The event, titled “From Hat City to Hollywood,” is scheduled for April 10 at 1 p.m. at the library.

Organizers said the program will feature the film One Summer Love, which was partially shot in Danbury, along with a discussion of the city’s role in movie history.

The event is being held in partnership with several local organizations, including The BookSmiths Shoppe, Danbury Railway Museum, The Palace Danbury and the City of Danbury Cultural Commission.

Officials said the program is intended to give residents a chance to see familiar locations from Danbury on screen.

Additional showings are planned for May 15 at 1 p.m. and May 21 at 5 p.m.
