Danbury Library Sets Summer Programs, Theme
Summer activities at the Danbury Library officially begin on Monday, July 2.

DANBURY, CT -- "Libraries Rock!" is this summer’s reading theme at the Danbury Library, which will join libraries across Connecticut to prove it with a huge variety of exciting, educational, and entertaining programs and services for kids, teens and adults.
Summer activities at the Danbury Library officially begin on Monday, July 2. Doors open at 10 a.m., and residents are to sign up for the reading programs for kids, teens and adults. Students in grades 1-12 will also be invited to participate in Mayor Mark Boughton’s Reading Challenge. Books from local school reading lists will be available for checkout. Food trucks will be available from noon to 2 p.m. parked outside the Library's plaza. Students from Western Connecticut State University will perform live music from 12:30-1:30 p.m and from 2:00-4:30 p.m., members of the Library’s Teen Council will offer activities for children such as bean bag toss and face painting.
To conclude the day's activities, musician and educator Caryn Lin will bring her “Science of Sound” performance to the Library from 5-6 p.m. This program incorporates electric violins, using looping to create short, on-the–spot recordings of her voice, percussion, and other sounds.
