Danbury Man Arrested on Drug Charges: Police
The investigation was initiated after investigators received complaints from concerned citizens alleging illegal activity.

DANBURY, CT -- Police arrested Alberto Lantigua, 37, of Danbury, on June 7 for drug offenses, which stemmed from an investigation that began months earlier. The investigation was initiated after investigators received complaints from concerned citizens regarding the alleged illegal activity of Lantigua.
Based on a further investigation, which police say revealed activity consistent with drug trafficking, the superior court issued a search warrant for Lantigua, his residence at 2 Purchase Street in Danbury, and his cellular devices.
On June 7, investigators from the Special Investigations Division, Community Conditions Unit, Patrol and Bethel Police Department apprehended Lantigua as he entered his driveway and parked. Lantigua immediately submitted to police authority and complied without resistance. He was arrested when investigators say they found him to be in possession of a substantial quantity of marijuana in his car and residence. In total, he was found to have more than two pounds of marijuana, packaging material, a scale and several hundred dollars in cash, according to police.

Based on the above findings, Alberto Lantigua was transported to the police department were he was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance (over a kilogram of marijuana) with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance within 1500 feet of a school, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell within 1500 feet of a school, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drug paraphernalia within 1500 feet of a school, and risk of injury to a child.
Lantigua was held on $50,000 bond.
