DANBURY, CT — A Danbury dance instructor is facing charges in New Jersey of luring a child online for the purpose of sex.

Earlier this month, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Cyber Crimes Unit received a tip that a child from Bergen County was being engaged in conversations on social media with an adult male, some of which were sexually explicit in nature. The adult also instructed the child to send sexually explicit photos, and shared sexually explicit digital files with the child.

On several occasions throughout the course of the conversations, the adult attempted to arrange for an in-person meeting, describing sexual acts he planned on performing upon the child, according to a statement from Danbury police spokesperson Erin Henry.

Further investigation revealed the online accounts being used to contact the child were controlled by Edison Bueno-Tenempaguay, 28. On Mar. 17, members of the Danbury Police Department assisted the Bergen County Prosecutors Office to execute a search warrant at Bueno-Tenempaguay’s residence on Main Street in Danbury.

Police charged Bueno-Tenempaguay with second-degree luring and third-degree debauching the morals of a child. He was remanded to the Bridgeport Correctional Center pending extradition to Bergen County.
