Danbury Man Tries to Cash Fake Checks at Drive-Through, Gets Busted: Cops
A Danbury man attempted to cash $2,700 of fraudulent checks at the drive-up window of a bank on Friday.

WESTPORT, CT — A 24-year-old Danbury man was arrested last week for allegedly trying to cash three fraudulent checks - totaling nearly $2,700 - at the Bank of America on the Post Road East in Westport, according to police. Cody Tyson tried to cash the checks at the drive-up window at about 4 p.m. on Aug. 19, but bank personnel alerted police.
When officers approached him, Tyson took off in his car but police did not pursue him because he was driving erratically and because of the time of day, officials said in a statement. A description of Tyson and the vehicle subsequently was given out.
"The vehicle was later located, abandoned, in the area of 323 Main Street," police said. "A search of the area resulted in the suspect (Cody Tyson) being located on foot on Evergreen Avenue near Compo Road North. The suspect was also found to have three fraudulent credit cards in his possession."
