DANBURY, CT — Mayor Mark Boughton managed to find some common ground with comedian John Oliver, right before he promised to name a city sewage plant after the host.

On Oliver's show, "Last Week Tonight," which aired Aug. 16, the satirist acknowledged Danbury was notable for its "charming railway museum," "historic hearthstone castle" and its 2015 ranking as "second-best city to live in." That was before Oliver told residents that they had "a standing invite to come get a thrashing from John Oliver — children included. F--- you!"

On Saturday, Mayor Boughton said he agreed with Oliver about the museum, castle and ranking, before announcing the city's new "fourth point of interest."

On Tuesday, the city's professional hockey team joined the brawl, posting a video to YouTube in which Danbury Hat Tricks' communications director Casey Bryant mocked Oliver's less-than-stellar filmography.
