Danbury Nanny Pleads Guilty In Child Abuse Case: Report

Court officials said a Danbury nanny accused of terrorizing three small children​ in her care has plead guilty to her charges.

DANBURY, CT - Court officials said a Danbury nanny plead guilty in a recent child abuse case Thursday, the Danbury News Times reported. The suspect's case was headed to trial more than two years after being charged until her attorney and prosecutors negotiated a plea deal.

Lidia Quilligana, 32, is accused of terrorizing three small children in her care, according to the Danbury News Times. Her charges included burning a three-year old's hand and leg on a hot stove. (To sign up for Danbury breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

The suspect was arrested in March 2015 after the abuse was discovered by the children's mother from footage shot on hidden cameras, the Danbury News Times reported. Quilligana will be sentenced when she returns to court August 22.
