Danbury Offers Residents Free Radon Test Kits
Indoor radon is the second leading cause of the disease in the U.S., according to health officials.
DANBURY, CT — The Danbury Department of Health & Human Services is offering free radon test kits to residents.
City health officials warn that radon, a radioactive gas that forms from the breakdown of uranium in soil and water, can get into the air in your home and increase your risk of lung cancer. Indoor radon is the second leading cause of the disease in the U.S.
Residents may pick up their radon test kit at the Danbury Health Department at 155 Deer Hill Avenue.

There is a $10 deposit fee, which will be reimbursed when the radon test kit is returned.
