Danbury PD Advises Motorists to Buckle Up Around Thanksgiving
The long Thanksgiving weekend will be Open Season on drivers not wearing their seat belts.

DANBURY, CT —Police are advising motorists that there will be a heightened awareness and enforcement of seat belt-related regulations over the long Thanksgiving weekend.
"Thanksgiving is one of the busiest travel times of the year and the increased number of vehicles on the road means an increased likelihood of crashes," police said in a release, touting their "Click It or Ticket" campaign.
In 2015, seat belts saved an estimated 13,941 people from dying, and nearly 64,000 were saved between 2011 and 2015, according to the state Department of Transportation. The remain the best defense against impaired, aggressive and distracted drivers.
